Rocket Ships

So Jules and I were joking around the other day about going to the moon. Blake was asking us over and over where I was going that night, so I finally told him I was going to get in my rocket ship and fly to the moon. Rather then laughing at my silliness, his eyes grew large as he solemnly declared, "I've never been on a rocket ship; not a real one."

Cut to yesterday morning when, for some reason (maybe because of a fascinating dream during the night?) he had it in his head that we were going to ride on a rocket ship. "Remember? You promised!"

I most certainly did not.

Jokingly, though, forgetting how serious he had been just a few days before, I stupidly said "Sure Blake, I'll take you on a rocket ship." Mistake.

I made a pretend ship with the couches in the toy room, which I thought was pretty awesome, and we voyaged through space and waved to mummy in the airplane (she was on her way to Melbourne that day). While Blake really enjoyed it for awhile, it did not appease him.

He then spent the ENTIRE day bugging me to go on a "real" rocket ship. Great. I definitely do not have access to a real one...and frankly, neither does AUSTRALIA.

Finally, I let all the kids make and decorate their own rocket ships out of coke bottles. They were quite...um...interesting. Not the most creative art project and resembling nothing close to an actual rocket ship, but the kids were happy. Blake had fun zooming around the house with his, and Maddy loved hers so much that she carried it with her when we went out for a walk later on, clutching it to her side so it wouldn't "fly away" (gotta love the way kids think!)

So that ended all of the begging and pleading for a real rocket ship ride.

Until this morning. Yay.

Anyone know where I can find a real rocket ship in Sydney?
No?
Didn't think so....oh well.
