Encounter

This last week has been super busy for me. I got to into the city again, which was lots of fun...but more on that later.

This past Thursday-Saturday, though, I was able to attend Hillsong's youth conference, Encounter. Now I should probably start out by saying that Hillsong has a much broader interpretation of the word "youth"...I think we had everyone from ages 15-25. Anyway, I just started attending Hillsong Church not too long ago, and I had met some great people. I was worried about this conference, though, and how awkward it would be since I didn't know anyone that well yet.
But then I realized that it's usually at these sorts of things where you really get to know people...so if I was going to jump into this church, it might as well be all the way.

So I signed up, and I went, and it was awesome :)

I was very lucky that my "work" schedule (if we're going to call it that) worked perfectly around the session times for the conference--how good is God?! Rich Wilkerson Jr. came all the way from Miami to preach, which was incredible, but I also got to hear from some of Hillsong's youth pastors, who were also quite amazing.

More importantly, though, God showed up in such a big way. Not only do I feel like I got to know more people, but the conference was a great way to refocus my sights on God and His plans for me here.

So it was a good weekend :)
