Last thursday I had a day off and a chance to venture into the city. After some coaching from Julie, I figured out the buses I needed to catch and hopped off just after crossing the Harbor Bridge.
I had no idea where I was going, so I wandered in the direction of water and randomly came across the Botanic(al) Gardens. I didn't realize at the time that the gardens wrap around and lead straight to the Opera House and Harbour Bridge and then right back into the city. Everything was really beautiful, but the weather was a bit rainy and dreary (its still winter, after all!)
I still ended up having a fun day doing tourist-y things and taking hundreds of pictures. I'll only bore you with some of them--so here's a little glimpse of Sydney, with more to come, I'm sure :)

I just loved this sign: "
Please walk on the grass"

The city, just behind the gardens

Harbour Bridge peeking through

A view of the bridge and opera house from the gardens

Exploring :)

Mrs. Macquarie's chair...supposedly she used to sit here and watch the ships in the harbor

I loved that the signs gave directions in minutes...easier for me to follow haha!

Finally made my way over to the Opera House--this is a view from the back

Harbour Bridge

The city was very pretty, mixing old and new architecture (this is the Custom's House)

Oh, and I met the queen...no big deal
I'm definitely planning on going back and exploring some more...hopefully on a more sunshiney day :)
