Adventures in Line Drying

The Australians may be a slightly more primitive culture after all.
Before I came here, I knew one of my duties as an Au Pair was to keep track of the kids' laundry. No big deal, I do laundry all the time. When I got here, though, I discovered that the majority of Australians still line dry their clothes. While the main reason for this is most likely the forgiving weather, it is also a great way to save energy and, therefore, dollars.

All of this would be fantastic except for the fact that it seems to rain every time I do laundry. It always looks like it'll be a nice day, then as soon as I have everything pinned up just right, the clouds roll in. So far today seems ok...but naturally when I walked outside a few minutes ago I noticed the dark clouds looming.
Here's to hoping for a little more sunshine....

Looks as if you've stepped back in time! What do you do with the wet clothes if it rains????
